Set in a cove bordered by thick forests, Lagen Island Resort is located in beautiful El Nido, Palawan. An on-site marine sports centre offers activities like diving, kayaking and windsurfing.

Guests can enjoy observing wildlife on the property or swimming with tropical fishes. Resort activities include hiking, snorkelling and mangrove or cave tours. The resort also has an outdoor pool, a spa and a library.

Feature antique wood floors and reclaimed wood furnishings, rooms come with a CD player and minibar. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open up to a private balcony overlooking the cove, bay or cliffs. Each room has a private bathroom with shower facilities and bath amenities.

The island is a sanctuary to a variety of birds and mammals. Guests can go hiking through Lagen Island's forest trail, which leads to a view of one of the coves on the other side of the island.

Buffet and à la carte meals are served at the air-conditioned clubhouse, while refreshments are available at the poolside bar. Picnic lunches can also be arranged.

Lagen Island Resort can be reached via a 75-minute charter flight from Manila to El Nido (LIO) Airport. Free transfers are provided from El Nido Airport, which is a 50-minute boat ride to the resort.

Amazing place with amazing staff, everyone was so kind and helping, we enjoyed our stay so much and was very sad to leave, I really want to give a huge thanks to the two bartenders Gamie and Dave, two amazing and helping guys that makes awesome cocktails and coffee, we really appreciate them!

Adding tofu options to the kitchen will be perfect.

WOULD DEFINITELY COME BACK!!

WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT OUR STAY AT EL NIDO LAGEN ISLAND! it was so organized from the airport transportation to the boat- our guide Rowell was so accommodating and informative. Rowell also did an awesome job with our tours (by the way that the reaper includes as complementary- which consist of island hoping snorkeling and lagoons)making it so much fun! Approaching Lagen island is so breathtaking. Our stay was very comfortable, clean, Serene, the food was amazing! The staff from the front desk to the servers to the chef and the managers- everyone had exceptional customer service! Very down to earth staff and super friendly!! Our stay at Lagen Island will always be one of the most memorable ones.

The staff of this hotel were so awesome. We missed our connecting flight from Cebu to El Nido and had to catch a flight the next day from Cebu to Pourta Princessa then catch a van ride to El Nido we arrived a day late. The manager of the hotel offered for us to move our whole booking by one day so we did not miss out on our stay. This was so amazing of them as we were looking most forward to our time in Miniloc and would have lost a whole day there. The staff are so well trained and helpful we really made the most of our time at the resort. We stayed in Miniloc for 3 nights and Lagen for 3 nights and that was perfect. Will definitely come back again.

I struggled a bit with the food. It just wasn’t really my type of food but the rest of my family enjoyed it.

I love everything in this resort. the staff are all lovely and attentive with all your needs. the boat tour guides are exellent. The food are all tasty and fresh everyday. I want to thank to John Sanders and to the chef Carlos they make our short stay amazingly beautiful and Ron who look after me when I'm not feeling well he make sure I have my lugaw and also to the lady doctor thank you for making me feel safe.

The prior communication with the resort was challenging, they were not very responsive on emails.

The cleanest place I have seen in Asia, reminds me of film ‘The Beach’ before it became overrun by tourists and rubbish. The food was good, property and location seriously heaven. When I arrived I kept asking if it was real life. You can walk over a small mountain on the island ( guided by a blue rope) which takes you to a private beach where you can snorkel. Really beautiful reef with lots to see and you can either canoe back or be picked up by boat to the resort.

The food was delicious, staff were awesome and the facilities were great. We specially liked the lagoon to relax and occasionally, paddle board.

Wow is all I can say. Over the top in every way. I added the optional food and recreation so it was amazingly easy to dine and get around. The lunch and dinner buffet was next level, everything was fresh, tasty and different daily.

The water monitors frightened my fiancé but I thought they were cool.

The resort is beautiful and the water in Palawan is just heavenly! Best snorkeling, diving we’ve ever experienced and we dive in sipadan langkayan mataking redang Red Sea Maldives ..... visibility and marine life exceeded all expectations. It will be hard to dive anywhere else again:) the staff as in cleaners cook chef waiter bartender zoologist ....etc are top! Food is so fresh and recipes were shared by the chef whenever we asked Massage was perfect! Sunsets and sunrises are like nothing I’ve seen before. The day trips to the small & big lagoon and the caves & the beach club are a must

Unfortunately it is the opposite when it came to management:( we had a few issues while there and the manager Jan and even those above her like Mr Paul Kerr were a big disappointment. I would probably not go again until I know that they’ve changed the both of them. Paul Kerr is the least charismatic man I’ve ever met and I’ve met a lot of people in my 42 years of being alive:) and in the 10 years I’ve lived in Asia. I wonder if it’s his nationality that creates this cultural barrier (he is so NOT what a resort in Asia needs for a manager) or is it just his personality?! Regardless, I could think of at least 6 members of the staff that would make better managers than Jan and Paul, like Pratz-Bianca-John-the other John:)- Sanders-the chef (forgot his name???? but he is the best), even the tour guide Randy and Loverr from the fishing excursion can probably do a better job. When I suggested to one of the staff members that I would like to see if Jan or Paul would suggest sending us an invite for a couple nights to compensate the lost time we had because of all the incompetences we faced by the management, the staff went to convey the message... AND SURPRISE! Nothing was done. The resort manager Jan herself didn’t come to the greeting / farewell point where every few hours she goes to to wave and sing guests farewell. Disappointed Yes. But is El Nido the most gorgeous spot in this earth?! Well google says it’s the 4th best in the world. I say it could possibly be #1 Also restaurant closes at 9pm and room service and beach bar stop serving any food from 10pm leaving the island too sleepy too early (and in my case too hungry:) even though we opted for the full board option for all days.
